SOCIAL MEDIA DESIGN
Coming out of a year of isolation, quarantine, and virtual classes, Senior Kira Eldridge and I decided to take school spirit into our own hands. There were no spirit clubs organized as the football season was quickly approaching. We realized that we needed to step up and lead the student body in supporting the team. With over 750 followers, a collective of 6,500 likes, and each post reaching over 3,000 accounts each month, immediately, @laneybuctown on Instagram became a hit. Kira takes the camera to capture moments of the student section, band, dance team, cheer team, and of course the crowd, to gather content for the Instagram account. I edit the photos with text, lightroom filters, and photoshop to create posts that students engage with and repost on their Instagram stories. @laneybuctown has influenced the way that we take pride in our school.

The insights represent the growth of the account and how many people it has reached on average periods of time. This month the instagram reflects the increase and decrease of followers over the month. This helps us figure out the content that the audience likes and what creates the most hype around the school.

Creating my own presets not only creates a unified account but it is more appealing to the eye. By using the same presets on each photo the account becomes more professional and finished.

PHONTO

With the ability to enter in any photo, Phonto allows you mobile access to millions of fonts. To keep the same look throughout the Instagram, I chose one of these four fonts, designating two for each sport.

Superimpose allows me do to so many things to the photo. It is almost a mobile Indesign. I mainly use Superimpose for the masking abilities in order to overlay and overlap text with the photo. It also allows you to do color treatments and filters, but I use lightroom for my coloring tecbniques.
